Welcome to Funman Guitar Repair.
My name is Adam Shockley. I am the owner of FUNMAN GUITAR REPAIR. Norman, OK has been my home since my birth in March of 1981. I started playing guitar when I was 15 years old. Ever since then I have been in numerous bands and have switched to playing the bass. Following my graduation from Norman High School, in 2000, I went to work for a commercial cabinet company. For the next 8 years I worked in the woodworking industry building and installing custom cabinets, trim, and furniture pieces all the while playing music as much as possible. In the fall of 2007 I had an epiphany. I should start combining my love for playing music and woodworking. I started looking for Luthier schools that had a comprehensive course in guitar building and repair. This led me to the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Arizona. I spent 5 months in Phoenix building an electric bass and an acoustic guitar all while learning many different repair techniques. My classes at Roberto Venn gave me a solid foundation in guitar building and repair through hands on experience, instructor knowledge, and guest lectures by some of the industry?s top repair men and guitar builders, including Frank Ford, John Eaton, and Richard Hoover of Santa Cruz guitars. I am excited to bring all this knowledge and experience back to Norman.
